Choosing the right option

Choose the container around the handling system. The seven Monoflo families differ in base design, wall construction and empty-return method; similar outside dimensions do not establish system compatibility.

Automation containers and trays have to fit the machine before they fit the product. Wholesale Industry sources new Monoflo AutoStore bins, ASRS trays, lifter plates and stack-only, stack-and-nest, foldable and knockdown automation containers, quoted against your handling-system specification.

Seven automation container families, one sourcing request

The range on this page is new, factory-built Monoflo product. It is grouped by how each container behaves in a system, not by size, because two containers with the same outside footprint can have completely different bases, wall construction and empty-return behavior. A conveyor, shuttle or robotic grid reads those details, so they are what you specify first.

Trays and lifter plates

Monoflo automation trays run from low 48–49 mm trays such as the ASRS 3550-49 up to 9-pin trays at 120, 150 and 180 mm (ASRS 6040-120/150/180 9-PIN), plus welded, 15-pin and hybrid-base versions and separate lifter plates for 6040, 6545 and 8060 footprints.

AutoStore bins

AutoStore™ bins are listed in the 650 × 450 mm grid footprint at three heights: AS 6545-220, AS 6545-330 and AS 6545-425. Your system's approved bin specification governs the choice.

Three more families collapse for the return trip: foldable stack-only containers (FSO 6545-320 and FSO 6545-325), knockdown automation containers with ribbed bottoms (KD 6040-285 and KD 6040-320) and the return-collapsible RC 6040-285, which pairs folding short walls with a separate top collar.

What matters more than the footprint

Common applications

Buyers on this page are usually filling a new automated storage and retrieval system, replacing worn totes on an existing conveyor line, or adding capacity to an AutoStore grid. Tray models with pins and lifter plates suit processes that index or lift product on the tray. Fixed-wall stack-only totes are the general-purpose choice for goods-to-person picking and shuttle systems, while collapsible and nesting types make sense when containers travel to suppliers or stores and come back empty.

Because Wholesale Industry quotes across categories, an automation order can be combined with related items such as straight-wall containers for manual workstations or plastic pallets for the receiving dock in one request.

Buying checklist

  1. Get the approved container or tray drawing from your integrator.
  2. Pick the full model number, including base suffix (H, W, DB) and height.
  3. Confirm material and any special requirements with the equipment owner.
  4. Decide on dividers, labels and tracking.
  5. Estimate quantity for the first fill plus spares.

New factory items carry minimum order quantities; minimums vary by product and condition and are confirmed in the quote along with availability.

How to order automation containers

Send the model numbers or system drawing, quantity per model, labeling and divider needs, and the delivery ZIP through the request a quote form, or call 855-964-2534. Freight is quoted to your ZIP; pickup can be arranged at the Pennsville, NJ or Tampa, FL yard where the order is staged. Pricing is tiered by quantity and confirmed with the quote.

Frequently asked questions

Are your AutoStore bins compatible with my AutoStore grid?

The listed AS 6545-220, AS 6545-330 and AS 6545-425 bins are built in the 650 × 450 mm AutoStore footprint, but compatibility depends on the bin specification approved for your system, including height and material. Send the approved spec or your integrator's requirements with the request and the exact model is confirmed against it before you order.

What do the H, W and DB suffixes on stack-only containers mean?

They indicate the bottom construction: hybrid, welded and dual base. Several stack-only heights are offered with more than one base, for example SO 6040-325 in H, W and DB versions. The base affects how the container rides on conveyors and handling equipment, so choose it from your system specification rather than by appearance.

Do I need lifter plates with automation trays?

Only if your process uses them. Lifter plates are listed separately for the 6040, 6545 and 8060 tray footprints. Check your equipment drawing to see whether the tray works on its own or sits on a plate, and include the plate model and quantity in the same request so the set is quoted together.

Can I mix different automation container models in one order?

Yes. A single quote can cover several heights, base types and families, for example stack-only totes with matching trays. Each model has its own minimum order quantity, so list quantities per model. Minimums vary by product and condition and are confirmed in your quote.

How are automation containers shipped?

They ship by freight quoted to your delivery ZIP, usually palletized. Larger programs may move as full truckloads, which are quoted individually. Pickup can be arranged by appointment where the order is staged. Tell us about dock access or delivery restrictions when you request pricing.
