Straight wall containers are fixed-wall plastic totes that make the most of every inch of floor and shelf space, with near-vertical sides for maximum usable volume. Wholesale Industry quotes the new Monoflo NSO range in five footprints, from 12 × 7 in to 48 × 15 in, in heights from 4 to 14 in, with lids for the 12 × 15 and 24 × 15 sizes.

Why choose a straight wall container

Tapered, nesting totes give up interior space so empties can nest. Straight wall containers do the opposite: the walls stay close to vertical, so the inside dimensions track the outside closely and parts fill the corners. They stack when full, stay put on shelving and flow racks, and suit operations where containers stay in a defined layout rather than shipping out and back empty. When empty-return space matters more than interior volume, compare attached lid totes or handheld collapsible containers instead.

Straight wall container sizes

All models are on the Monoflo straight-wall containers page:

48 × 15 in7, 11 inNSO 4815-07, NSO 4815-11No

The footprints are modular. Two 12 × 15 in containers occupy the space of one 24 × 15 in container, and two 24 × 15 in containers take up the same 48 × 15 in run as one long container, so mixed sizes can share a shelf, cart or pallet pattern.

How to specify the right container

Size to the goods

Start with interior clearance, not outside size. Measure your parts, packing layout and quantity per container, then pick the shortest height that fits, which leaves more room on the shelf.

Base and lid

Choose a flat or cross-stack base for the way containers will sit on shelves, conveyors or each other, and add a lid where dust, stacking or security matter.

Material

If you handle electronics and need an ESD material, say so explicitly. The actual material and any documentation are confirmed in the quote.

Common applications

Planning a storage layout

Map containers to the shelf or rack first. Measure shelf depth and the clear height between shelves, then choose the footprint that fills the depth and the height that leaves room to lift the container out. On pallets, plan the number of containers per layer and the number of layers, and make sure the matched top cap and securing method are part of the same quote. Standardizing on two or three sizes from one modular family makes reordering and swapping containers between areas much easier.

Reordering and expanding an existing system

If you are adding to containers already in service, send the model number molded into the container along with a photo of the base and a list of the sizes you run. Matching the model keeps new containers compatible with your shelf slots, labels and any pallet or cap arrangement. When the model marking is unreadable, measure the outside length, width and height and note the base style; the closest listed model is then confirmed in the quote before you order. Ordering a few spares of each size you use avoids small, urgent reorders later.

Straight wall container checklist

  1. Model number, or the usable dimensions you need.
  2. Base type and whether you need lids.
  3. Material and any ESD requirement.
  4. Matching pallet or top cap, if containers ship as unit loads.
  5. Quantity per model and delivery ZIP.

These are new factory containers with minimum order quantities; minimums vary by product and condition.

Get pricing

Send the models, quantities, base and lid choices and delivery ZIP through the request a quote page, or call 855-964-2534. Mixed sizes can be quoted in one request. Freight is quoted to your ZIP, and tiered pricing and availability are confirmed with the quote.

Frequently asked questions

What is a straight wall container?

It is a fixed-wall plastic tote whose sides are close to vertical, so the interior is nearly as large as the outside footprint. Straight wall containers stack when full and do not nest when empty, which suits shelving, racks and in-plant handling rather than shipping lanes with empty returns.

Which straight wall containers have lids?

Lids are listed for the 12 × 15 in footprint (NSO 1215 Lid) and the 24 × 15 in footprint (NSO 2415 Lid). If you need a cover for another size, ask in your quote request and the available options are confirmed for that model.

Can I get ESD straight wall containers?

If your application needs an ESD material, state it explicitly in your request. The material of the model offered and any supporting documentation are confirmed in the quote. Do not assume a standard container is ESD-safe unless the quote confirms it.

Do different sizes work together on one shelf or pallet?

The footprints are modular: two 12 × 15 in containers match one 24 × 15 in container, and two 24 × 15 in containers match one 48 × 15 in container. Mixed sizes can share a layout, but confirm the stacking arrangement and any pallet and top-cap fit for your specific models.

What is the minimum order for straight wall containers?

These are new factory containers, so minimum order quantities apply. Minimums vary by product and condition and are confirmed in your quote. List each model and quantity you need, and the quote will show availability, tiered pricing and freight to your ZIP.
